Item | # 0003694334 |
Family | Veneridae |
Name | Leukoma thaca - Giant! , (Molina, 1782) |
Size | 72.3 mm |
Locality | Caldera, northern Chile |
Note | One giant and very nice specimen of Leukoma thaca. This particular specimen was collected washed ashore fresh dead and it has a very large shell, very gerontic, globose and thick; it has some natural brownish markings near its edge and some geometric pattern in the earlier part of the valves. The interior of the valves have some pitting and thickening, alike to mabe pearls. This is the largest Leukoma thaca that I have found. A low initial price for an interesting and giant specimen of Leukoma. |
