| Note | Superbly patterned example of this highly sought after South Pacific cone. Heavy shell with fantastic symmetrical and fine reticulated tenting, strong dark brown coloration painted on a China-white body whorl canvas. The specimen displays a perfect protoconch, excellent nacre gloss and a flawless short spire. The graceful natural lip is thick, including the aperture notch with no chipping. Collected on fine muddy sand at 25 meters at night by Scuba diver Paul Kanner in Taioha'e Bay, Nuku Hiva, Marquesas in 2000. It has a nick of the protoconch and negligible chip of the siphonal notch. Grade: F+++. |
