| Note | Classic specimen with wonderful color banding on the body whorl and wide varice expansion. The foliatum has beautiful form, heavy weight/size ratio, solid/perfect body whorl, spire and aperture lip (43.4 grams). The foliatums general appearance is striking. The shell features excellent structural characteristics considering the turbulent ocean conditions in this area. Captured by Scuba diver off the Channel Islands, California on boulders at 8-10 meters in 2022. The shell shows minor wear of the protoconch, a chip in the anterior canal lip and micro-pitting on the ventral body whorl.. Grade: F++/F+++. |
