| Note | Large and heavy specimen of this endemic and rare species from the Marquesas. The shell has outstanding peach/coral orange pigmentation. pink spire and a lavender aperture. The specimen shows strong axial cording, excellent weight/size ratio and typical shortened sparse spines, typical for the species. The shell shows intact protoconch, spire, body whorl and siphonal canal, Collected on sand on Scuba by Paul Kanner at the base of a rock at 28-30 meters in Taihoe Bay, Nuka Hiva, Marquesas in 12/2000. The shell comes with Paul's handwritten data slip. Grade; GEM. |
