Note | Heavy, rhomboid shaped and high spire characterize this endemic from the Hawaiian Islands (51.8 grams). The shells features large intervarical ridges with a light brown body whorl primary tone and dark to chestnut brown spiral cords and grooves on the body whorl. The shell has an intact protoconch, spire, porcelain white aperture and intact foliated spines on all three varices. The shell was taken by Scuba diver at 15-20 meters on a large reef off Oahu, Hawaii in the late 90s. The shell has some micro-chipping of the siphonal canal labral medial edge terminus. Grade: GEM minus. |
