| Note | Classic specimen with pink/violet barnacle freeloaders and a bright porcelain aperture. This shell is an interesting shell addition to any collection featuring naturally occurring symbiotic specimens. The shell is large, heavy, thick and shows strongly shouldered broadly convex teleconch whorls (104.5 grams). The flesh toned body whorl demonstrates an admirable array of brownish axial stripes of varying widths, adding to the overall impact. The shell was collected in the late 60's off Newport Beach, California. The specimen displays some broken spine tips on the shoulder and spire with shallow chipping along the leading aperture whorl and lip. Grade: F++. |
