| Note | Large, exceptionally heavy, deep water and attractively toned volute with deep venetian/poppy red pigmentation with a strong body whorl band highlighted by beige/ivory blotches (225.0 grams).The specimen is solid with strong nodules on the shoulder. The shell shows a perfect protoconch and an amazingly perfect thick natural lip. A very collectable pattern and color. Captured by fishermen using tangle nets off Tongkil Island, Sulu Sea, southern Philippines at 80-100 meters circa 2016. The shell demonstrates small shallow micro black pit trails on the ventral and dorsal with a thin shallow growth fold on the ventral spire extending to the shoulder. Grade: F++/F+++. |
