| Note | Richly pigmented specimen with impressive colors, amazing mottled pattern, form and hyper-glossy nacre lustre. A sight to hold in hand. Super shape/symmetry with strong inflation and modest rostration. The labral lateral wall coloration approaches deep chocolate brown with strong spotting of the thick rounded margins. The shell exhibits perfect extremities, aperture and base. Collected by Scuba diver Peter Clarkson at 11 meters resting on a green sponge on a high limestone ridge, east of Duke of Orleans Bay, Western Australia in 6/2007. Original hand written data slip from Peter included. There is evident an glazed growth crease and shallow glossed concavity on the anterior ramp. Grade: F+++. |
