| Note | Highly collectable inflated large mappa with an excellent dorsal pattern and exceptional wavy dorsal line highlighting the collectability of this shell. The dorsum shows larger diffuse and distict lacunae with generous spotting of the lateral walls. The base shows a light columellar botch and superb nacre gloss. The shell is striking in appearance, as seen in photographs, with a heavy weight/size ratio (72.8 grams). Lifted from a drop-off rock/coral wall by compressor diver off Punta Engaño, Mactan Island, Cebu, Philippines at 20 meters in the 90s. The specimen has one subnacre negligible wobble mid-dorsum and a mini-chip on the anterior columellar extremity base. Grade: F+++. |
