| Note | Large, rock heavy Hawaiian specimen with an excellent weight/size ratio (74.2 grams). The shell has a thick calloused base and margins with a typical distribution of glazed tubercles (bumps) along the lateral margins, perfect extremities with dimples on the base. Deep colors and impressive dorsal banding. Purple teeth complement the base along with thick rounded margins that are typical of the species. Subtle growth folds on the dorsum and two small glazed defects on the labral base area. The heavy beauty found by Scuba diver hidden in a cavern off North Shore, Oahu, Hawaii at 11-12 meters on a night dive in 2018. Grade: F+++. |
