| Note | Inflated, large and hyper-calloused, rich thick nacred member of this sought after Hawaiian species. Brilliant color and deep, complex reticulated pattern. Heavy shell, with thick calloused margins and beautiful dark spotting extending over the tuberculated margins and permeating the peripheral base . A solid shell with a strong weight/size ratio (72.1 grams).The specimen has perfect extremities, base and margins very similar to and the martybealsi subspecies form.The maculifera was identified and removed from under a ledge at Kaena Point. Oahu, Hawaii on a night dive at 8-10 meters in 2018. The shell is difficult to flaw. Grade: GEM. |
