| Note | Dark toned example of this desirable cowrie species. This specimen exhibits high quality nacre luster, strong color, excellent checker pattern definition, strong base banding pattern, perfect extremities and dark base/aperture teeth color. The specimen was collected by Scuba diver off Haleiwa, Oahu, Hawaii in 2/1996. The shell was collected 20-25 meters under a mushroom coral next to a large reef in the 80's. The shell shows a mild nacre blemish on the anterior ramp. Grade: F+++/GEM. |
