| Note | Modestly large, deep water, moderately heavy specimen that is an aesthetic beauty. The specimen shows a wide bluish dorsal line and an unusual array of chestnut brown/black maculae in a unique longitudinal pattern painted over a grey/blue dorsal line. Mellow caramel brown/flesh toned lateral walls with deep, eye popping spots above the margins that wrap around to the base. Strongly rostrated, perfect base and flawless extremities with a thick glossy nacre. Collected on limestone reef while grazing on a sponge at 42 meters by Scuba diver off Two Rocks, central Western Australia in 2/2025. The shell exhibits a growth fold/wobble hidden below the dorsal line on the labral side of the dorsum. Grade: F+++/GEM minus. |
