| Note | Deep hued, brilliant sparkling nacre gloss and strongly spotted heavy Hawaiian classic tiger. Definitive chocolate brown fringed golden dorsal line, spectacular pattern and a classic array of black dorsum spotting, highlight this large specimen. The additional rich primary colors of blue/slate grey, shades of gold/cream/ pastel yellow complement the dorsum and overall impressive visual impact of this schilderiana. The shell is heavy, thick nacred and in remarkably exceptional condition (223.8 grams).Taken by Scuba diver on night diver Michael Mangum at 10 meters on day dive nested between two large rocks off North Shore, Oahu, Hawaii in 6/2017. Present is a shallow dorsal subnacre fold and hidden in the dorsal line. The fold is located on the anterior ramp and palpable. Grade: F+++/GEM minus. |
