Note
Aurata that are found in the northern portion of their habitat range off Coral Bay are invariably round bulbous shells. This very bulbous specimen demonstrates this in spades. It is almost round. It was collected from a white funnel sponge in 162 metres of water west of Coral Bay during April 2024.
A cream high domed shell with tan speckles and sparse orange dots to the white margins.
The shell is graded Fine++/Fine+++ has some dorsal growth irregularity and a small well healed nacre chip on the top of it's dorsum.
