F++. A fantastic species from the C. cedonulli-group. Conus aurantius is only known from the ABC Islands, it’s closest relative and sister species is C. curasseviensis from Margarita, Venezuela. C. aurantius comes in three colours: brown, orange and black and it’s average size is 30 to 35 mm. Almost all shells known have been collected long ago. This shell was in the Martin collection as Conus dominicanus. Very rare nowadays.
