Puncticulis pulicarius f. fustigatus , Hwass in Bruguière, 1792
Size
42.1 mm
Locality
Philippines
Note
GEM. The form “fustigatus”, of which Kaicher on card 1178 writes “An attractive color form with large, merging, black spots”. This form seems to be uncommon throughout the wide range of the very variable C. pulicarius. Shells are sought after by collectors because of the particular beauty, the black most often contrasting strongly with the porcelain white background. Fantastic shell with an intense pattern.
Philippines. Zamboanga. 10-25 m. 2011.
