This thersites was trawled at approx. 140-160m on a sand and rubble bottom east of Cedunna. It is one of the rarest and most desirable shells of South Australia. This is a super mature thersites contraria of enormous size namely 84,00 mm in length and nearly 60,00 mm in width. It has a top shape, colours and pattern. A minor chip at the left inside of the posterior canal and a completely glossed over injury at the lower left side of the shell do not at all impact the beauty of this impressive specimen. |
