Note | Last auction I sold the Darwin Harbour form of this miraculous ‘classic’ species from the JES Collection. This sale we move on to this truly magnificent, ultra-large specimen of the rare LEMON colour form of the larger Cape Leveque variety. Exceedingly difficult to obtain at this size and quality now, coming only from the choicest old collections. A favourite specimen of the JES Collection, now to be passed to another connoisseur of the world’s most exquisite seashells. Data: Off Cape Leveque, Kimberley Region, Western Australia, Australia; upon reef substrate; 12-14 m; dived; 1992. Size: 76.8 mm. Grading: Fine+++; w/o. Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne. |
