| Note | An exceptional, ultra-large specimen of the close-ribbed form. Ultra-rich colour. Equidistant axial costae. Apertural lip lightly smoothed. The specimen was formerly in the famous Hochmuth collection in Germany, subsequently passing through the Crayssac collection, to the JES Collection. A standout example of this ‘classic’ species with impeccable provenance. Data: Off Gasi, Kwale, Kenya; upon sand substrate; 40-60 m; trawled; 1988. Size: 126.3 mm. Grading: Fine+++. Provenance: 1) Franz Hochmuth collection, Dillingen; 2) Vincent Crayssac collection, Nouméa; 3) JES Collection; London / Melbourne. |
