Brechites attrahens - FLOWER OF THE SEA , Lightfoot, 1786
Size
143.2 mm
Locality
Oman
Note
Not only Xenophoridae are able to collect and decorate their bodies with other shells. Here is a truly unique specimen - Brechites decorated itself with many Umboinium eloiseae, which made it look like a flower bud. The Brechites attrahens are unusual among bivalves because they have the form od a tube. This species are tubular, both valves fused into the tube and visible just above milti-perforate end. From my personal collection. Payment in RMB are possible
