Note | One very nice specimen of Xanthochorus cassidiformis, a muricid species of the endemic Chile-Peru genus Xanthochorus. This specimen of the northern form of the species has a peach interior of the aperture, in contrast with the southern form which have thinner shells with purplish-yellowish aperture. This specimen was found washed ashore fresh dead in a rocky beach. It has a few defects as shown in photos but otherwise in a very good condition for the species. |
