| Note | One nice and large specimen of Concholepas concholepas. This is an amazing large muricid with a giant last whorl. This is the largest muricid species found in Chile, and one of the largest gastropods found in northern Chile. They are heavily extracted and their populations are diminishing, as it is an edible species with a large muscle. Usually their shells are very encrusted with encrusting calcareous algae and cirripedian communities, among many other epibionts. This specimen has a natural dorsum which still has some cirripedians attached which can be cleaned with some patience to reveal the chestnut color of the dorsum of the shell. The lip is nice but as it is a large and old species it has some damage, however overall it is a nice specimen.
