VERY RARE SPECIES IN MEXICO WOOOW!! Superb sculpture with the best axial and spiral ribs all around with brown banding and spotting colors all around, extra thick massive lip with elegant aperture and original operculum. Apex absent not really detracting this masterpiece and super rarity. F+++. Rarely do you find one of these unusual species. Each time I am amazed when I find one of these. Maybe 2 to 3 specimens per year with a lot of luck. And always in different ecosystems. From places near mangroves, lagoons, mouths, between rocks and sands, corals and more. So my conclusion is that this species is very adaptable to all ecosystems but very scarce in big populations. They are solitary and for the most part it could be said that they are nocturnal, since all those that I have found have been under rocks, caves or buried in areas with a lot of darkness and inactive. Found attached under a big stone fully with Crucibulum scutellatum and blue sponges about 6m deep . Cuastecomates, Jalisco, Mexico. June 2025.
