| Note | An exceptional ultra-large specimen of this all-time ‘classic’ species, exhibiting a UNIQUE pattern in which the axial lines are distinctly diagonal, and, in many cases, straight, as opposed to the typical chevrons. Pattern formed with rare regularity and clarity. Fully mature, with thickened, ‘rolled’ apertural lip. Now obtainable only from choice old collections. Data: Arafura Sea, off northern coast of Australia; upon sand substrate; 80-120 m; trawled; 1991. Size: 121.2 mm. Grading: Fine+++. Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne. |
