| Note | This elusive species is endemic to a highly restricted geographical area, occurring only within the Otway Ranges of Victoria. The locality is now fully protected as the Great Otway National Park, with no fresh specimens being available in future. Glossy ultra-dark coffee, reading as black. Definitely for the landsnail specialist. Data: Beech Forest, Otway Ranges, Barwon South West Region, Victoria, Australia; amongst leaf litter, at base of extremely tall myrtle beech, after rain; hand-foraged; 1972. Size: 25 mm. Grading: Gem. Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne. |
