Note | Toxopneustes roseus (A. Agassiz, 1863) is a species of sea urchin from the East Pacific. It is sometimes known as the rose flower urchin or the pink flower urchin. Like the related flower urchin, they are very venomous. The most poison Sea urchin from Mexico. Something very particular is that this sea urchin surrounds itself with shells, corals, stones and everything that serves as camouflage and protection. Elegant banding with superb pustules all around. Found walking between muddy stones about 8-10m deep. Cuastecomates, Jalisco, Mexico. February 2025.
