| Note | One giant and selected live-taken specimen of Trochita trochiformis. These snails live on rocks and over the shells of other snail species. They usually have very ugly dorsum of the shells, like the specimen presented here, but this specimen is a live-collected, giant, and it has an a very nice septum with only minor damage (it is often broken by the fishermen who only often collect them as they are very difficult to dettach). These giant specimens were collected offshore in a rocky outcrop by a diver. A low price for an interesting species. It can be cleaned further as it was only lightly cleaned with brushes and soap. |
