| Note | One nice live-collected specimen of the edible muricid Thaisella chocolata with its original operculum. This species is collected by divers in 4-10 m depth off the rocky coasts of northern Chile and southern Perú. This species is uncommon in collections as their shells are almost always covered with cirripedian and other epibionts. This particular specimen is very clean for the species, with very small defects; it was collected by a diver at 8 m depth (we have the coordinates) and it preserves its operculum This is a low price for a species which is difficult to obtain for collections. |
