Crepipatella dilatata - Live collected , (Lamarck, 1822)
Size
32 mm
Locality
Caldera, northern Chile
Note
One very nice specimen of the limpet Crepipatella dilatata. This species lives attached to other shells (particularly mytilids) or over rocks, and it is rather common in the subtidal. This specimen has a perfect septum but a rather ugly dorsum, and it was collected attached to an Aulacomya ater shell. A very low price for a large specimen of C. dilatata.
