| Note | One nice and selected live-taken specimen of Trochita trochiformis. These snails live on rocks and over the shells of other snail species. They usually have very ugly dorsums, but this specimen has a rather normal dorsum with some erosion and many micro-boreholes, but this specimen is a live-collected specimen with a perfect septum, which is often broken by the fishermen who only often collect them (they are very difficult to dettach). This particular specimen was collected as bycatch onto the shell of a Choromytilus specimen collected in about 5 m depth. A low price for an interesting species. It can be cleaned further as it was only lightly cleaned with brushes and soap. |
