| Note | Live collected in 2015 by ROV at 170 m; ex. Merv Cooper. F+/F++ with healed fish bite marks (green arrows in photos), noticeable on the labial side of dorsum and hidden in the pattern on the opposite side. Locality data given only as "off Onslow", hence its original identification as "perlae". However, the base is brown and not concave, plus the dorsum is heavily spotted. This area recently had a marine heatwave late in 2024, severely affecting the food source of Zoila species, and has probably led to a decrease in population size. |
