| Note | A superb specimen of the rare curta form of this very seldom offered, endemic Queensland species, exhibiting beautiful colour, and a supremely well-formed pattern. Hypermature, with extreme solidity. One typical restricted disruption to an early whorl, but otherwise exemplary. Not freshly available now for decades, and obtainable only when released from the choicest old collections. Definitely for the advanced Volutidae specialist whose collection yet lacks this very rare form. Data: Capricorn Channel, Queensland, Australia; upon sand substrate; 180-200 m; trawled; 1980. Size: 35 mm. Grading: Fine+. Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne. |
