| Note | This exceptional GIANT is in a different league to virtually all other specimens. Dense and striking pattern formed with rare regularity and clarity. For those used to typically sized smaller examples, to hold this shell in the hand comes as a revelation. Incredibly solid and heavy, with ultra-thickened shell walls of pure porcellaneous white. One tiny loss at the anterior of the completely natural apertural lip is the only reason for a grading under ‘Gem’ – negligible against the magnificence of such a shell. Very few perplicata are of this size and quality, and exhibit so striking and well-formed a pattern. A ‘museum piece’ of conchology for the Volutidae specialist, or dedicated collector of giant-sized shells.
