Note | Here is the rare, northern-most form of this variable species. Soft PINK/BROWN coloured shell with ORANGE flashes is far different than the predominantly brown/green shell found inter tidally further south. Another distinct feature of this form is the VERY STRONG SPIKES around the spire of the shell which is comparable to the smoother spires of the southern variation o this species. Gem/Gem- with no major flaws to be seen. Live taken amongst sponges and rubble at 12m. Pear Shoals, South of Broome, W.A. June 2025 |
