| Note | Here is a SUPER DARK example of this SUPER RARE from of Zoila. A mostly BLACK dorsum has scatterings of ORANGE/RED windows breaking up the otherwise uniform pattern with is surrounded by a STRING BLUE HALO extending around the entire margin! A lovely GLOBOSE shape of the shell along with the STRONG MANTLE LINE make for a highly attractive piece even if there is a serious flaw. Without the flaws this would be on of the best Zoila I have seen however that is not the case unfortunately. F+/F++ with just the singular reglazed fish bite on the side of the shell which is visible in photos and some very very minor dorsal inclusions but very hard to see. Fresh dead collected amongst small sponge growth on very silty low profile reef at 40m. Peak Island, Off Exmouth, W.A. January 2024 |
