| Note | Moderately large, solid conical specimen with excellent form and pattern. The shell shows moderately high flawless spire, intact protoconch and natural lip. The shell has a pale grayish/violet primary color tone with scattered bluish grey streaks. Two reddish/brown spiral bands stand out that are variably mottled with reddish brown disrupted triangles, dots axial lines and flammules in between. The aperture is white and the specimen displays a modest gloss. The shell was collected by tangle net at 100-150 meters off Balut Island, Mindanao, Philippines in 2012. The specimen shows some minor chipping of the siphonal edge and notch. Grade: F+++. |
