| Note | Large, solid and eloquent example of this hard to find Pacific species (former WRS). The shell features excellent anatomical form and sculpturing. From the sharp tabulated spire to the axial vertical ridges, it's a beauty to behold. The specimen has a perfect spire, thick natural lip and perfect siphonal notch. The shell is complemented by distinct brown axial lines and a pleasant collage of light brown/reddish brown pigments that highlight the visual impact. Deep water specimen taken as bycatch from Prawn traps at 120 meters off San Diego, California in 8/2010. The shell shows some protoconch erosion and a mild growth line on the dorsal body whorl toward the natural lip. Grade: F+++/GEM. |
