| Note | Fantastic large specimen with a high tabulated spire, strong white expanding valle and perfect intact apex. Horizontal bands and brown-orange bands on the leading/outer lip, Incredible fresh colors with excellent sculpture and structure all around. The unusual shell displays a thick extended lip, amazing scalloped margins and denticles. Gray spotted ventral body whorl and intact siphonal canal. A stellar specimen of a uncommon species. Notable is the ultra-thick and protuberant lip. The shell was collected off Isla San Jose, Baja California Sur, Mexico on rocks on a Scuba night dive at 15 meters in 1998. The shell has one hoof mark on the mid-dorsal shoulder nodule. Grade: F+++/GEM. |
