| Note | Large, robust and distinctive light patterned umbilia from the colder water. The specimen displays an interesting dorsal light, well-balanced blotched maculae patterning and a strong weight/size ratio (74.3 grams). The lateral wall spotting is moderate/notable. The shell shows excellent anatomical form. The subtle patterns highlight the remarkable porcelain white primary color, phenomenal gloss, porcelainized China-white base and strong rostration. The Umbila was trawled off Lakes Entrance, Victoria, Australia at 150-170 meters in 2010. The shell presents with modest silt stains on the base teeth and aperture. Grade: F+++/GEM. |
