| Note | Lustrous specimen and a heavy weight golden beauty by most standards (83.7 grams). Great contour and symmetry of the dorsum with strong marginal callousing. Perfect aperture, teeth and siphonal canals. Strong golden color, intense nacre shine, fading slightly as one approaches the columellar side. The gold color is brilliantly accentuated by the striking sharp transition to the grey/china-white margins and extremities. Compressor diver collected on a dropoff wall at 30-40 meters off Surigao, Philippines in the mid-90s. The specimen has remarkably retained its golden color tone for approximately 30 years. The shell shows a few insignificant blemishes on the anterior ramp. Grade: GEM minus. |
