| Note | Impressive, solid, hyper-glazed specimen that glistens like polished crystal. The moderately deltoidal Trona is characterized by a modest pitch black dorsal hump. The shell shows a strong weight/size ratio (80.5 grams) and ultra thick strong calloused and flanged margins. The specimen features a heavily glossed base and perfect extremities. Collected by Scuba diver at 3-5 meters between rock crevices off Pointe des Almadies, Dakar, Senegal, West Africa in 2018. The Trona displays a series of some minor subnacre blemishes on the dorsum. Grade: GEM minus. |
