| Note | Beautifully patterned specimen of this classic Australian Zoila species. Exquisite form, moderately flanging sharp tuberculated margins and superior black/brown fused marginal pigmentation framing the dorsum underscore its allure. The shell exhibits a thick glossy nacre on an aesthetic dorsum with a beautifully reticulated and color gradated window dorsally. Buried in an exceptionally wide beige/brown dorsal window is a white pigmented centerpiece on the hump appearing like a "seagull." The shell has thick anterior and posterior flanges, perfect margins and extremities. A lovely shell and with timeless esthetics. Scuba diver collected by Peter Clarkson on low profile sponge off Jurien Bay, Western Australia at 30-40 meters in 2/2010. The shell displays minor subtle nacre blemishes on the base. Grade: GEM minus. |
