Note | Petite and lovely specimen with balance bright dorsal maculae and caffe latte/nude painted extremities. The shell displays remarkable deep nacre lustre, profound body inflation, thick margins with large knobby tubercules, modest rostration and classic golden/aurata pigmentation. The aurata shows a perfect sparkling soft flesh-toned fringed porcelain white base with moderate to sparse lateral wall spotting on the labral aspect. A signature and classic Zoila specimen from the deep water also know as the "pebble form." Excellent size/weight ratio at 42.6 grams. Harvested by ROV at 205 meters while dining on a sponge attached to a low flat reef off False Entrance, Shark Bay, Western Australia in 10/2012. The shell displays a small/mild reglazed blemish mid-dorsum to the labral side. Grade: GEM minus. |
