Note | Classic heavy east Pacific conch with a depressed spire and a thick pronounced outer lip. The specimen shows excellent morphology and symmetry. The shoulder is nodulated, with a tan/light brown toned body whorl, The specimen shows an excellent array of profound ribs on the heavily flared lip. The perfectly glossed aperature exudes strong shades of apricot orange mixed with hues of cream, pink, and white. The Peruvian Conch was collected off Isla San Jose, Baja California Sur, Mexico on rocks at night at 12-15 meters in 1998. The shell exhibits a nicked protoconch, minor chipping on the anterior siphon/rear (anal) canal tip and a "hoof" mark on the shoulder. Grade: F++. |
