| Note | This magnificent GIANT, collected over thrity years ago, during the ‘old days’ of Colombian deep-water availability, is one of the most impressive specimens I have ever encountered. I don’t believe specimens of this size have been freshly collected for many years. Rich and beautiful colours: yellow, orange, and burgundy, with pale pink radial ribs. Well-developed nodes, all in a PERFECT state of preservation upon the display valve, (illustrated here), and a few typically perforated nodes upon the non-display valve, as is always the case, upon account of this valve being exposed to the substrate during life, (image available upon request). Specimens of this size are now highly coveted ‘collector’s items’. Data: Off Cabo de la Vela, Guajira Peninsula, Colombia; upon sand/mud substrate; 120 m; trawled; 1990. Size: 136 mm.
