| Note | Beaut specimen ROV collected from a finger sponge on silty sand with very sparse sessile growth in 85 metres of water. Found west north west of Barrow Island, Western Australia. The shell has sparse dark chocolate and tan spots on a beige dorsum, brown siphon trim and a faint apricot colored base. Originally selected for our personal collection as the dorsum exhibits horizontal bands of tan brown spots.
I do not anticipate collecting further specimens given how remote the habitat is, the cost and effort of accessing that location and at my age nearing retirement.
Graded gem- as a hint of growth can be felt on top of the dorsum. One from our personal collection. |
