Item | # 0003851562 |
Family | Conidae |
Name | Floraconus anemone f. peronianus - giant |
Size | 102.8 mm |
Locality | Port Lincoln, South Australia |
Note | This is the biggest peronianus I have personally seen. Not sure how many are out there above the 100 mm mark. The shell has a stepped spire (quite elegant to me), attractive color with soft pinkish hues, very minor growth stress marks for this highly fragile, easily scarred species. Thin lip with a nick at the anterior end, visible in the picture. With operculum. It was dived on rocky rubble in 25 mt off Port Lincoln, South Australia. For serious cone collectors. |
