| Note | Here is a lovely example of this uncommon WA form of N.helvola. This shell is HYPER CALLOUSED on its margins giving it a great DELTOID SHAPE. Classic "starry night" pattern on the dorsum with soft purple tips. Fresh dead collected with a small attempted fish bite just above the margin and a small predatory pin hole on the base. Collected fresh dead on top on medium profile limestone reef amongst short weed and sponges at 22m. 2 Nautical Miles North of Rottnest Island, W.A. April 2025 |
