Item | # 0003855937 |
Family | Cypraeidae |
Name | Zoila friendii vercoi - Rare lentiginosa !!! , F. A. Schilder, 1930 |
Size | 80.1 mm |
Locality | Albany, WA |
Note | Very large bulbous thersites shaped lentigenosa Dive collected in 52 metres of water from a geodia sponge at Broken Reef in Albany, Western Australia.
Classic lentigenosa with sparse fine tan spots on a grey dorsum. It has a creamy spotted base and margins with dark brown spotting. Graded Fine++ as it has re-glazed chip on the posterior siphon. After hudsoni, lentigenosa is the rarest vercoi form and we rarely have specimens to offer. Without the healed posterior siphon, I would price the shell at 2,000 euro. Nice shell at a good price. |
